Intro
Have you been in a situation where you needed to make a quick screenshot, add a couple of arrows to highlight something important, and share it without opening a heavy editor like GIMP or Photoshop? (I guess GIMP isn't heavy, but you get the point) There is an amazing cross-platform tool called Flameshot that can do exactly what I just described and even more.
Flameshot App
With the Flameshot app, when you select the area you want to make a screenshot from, you can start editing right away. You can choose to add an arrow mark, highlight text, blur a section (which is helpful when you need to hide some sensitive info), add a text, draw something, add a rectangular/circular shaped border, add an incrementing counter number (helps to indicate step order in a step by step instruction), and add a solid color box. All that is provided by Flameshot's built-in editing tools. It is really easy to use, which is a sign of a great product. The exact features can be found on their official website; there is no need to repeat them here. The Flameshot app is what you need when writing tutorials, reporting bugs, or simply sharing your screen with friends. To install it, go to the official site, and you find how to do it in there.
Conclusion
That's it! This is a short overview of the awesome Flameshot app, which greatly simplifies the process of taking and editing screenshots. I installed it myself recently, and I like it so far. I guess you will like it too. If you like this article, please share it with someone who might find it interesting too. Like my blog? Subscribe to the newsletter.
